How vision comes to life

The Story of the A - Frame

Coming back home to the lands

The story of the A-Frame begins with something much older than the building itself.

For generations, Indigenous peoples designed structures in direct relationship with the environments in which they lived. The conical form of the tipi is one powerful example - a highly sophisticated building system designed around structure, wind, rain, fire, ventilation, portability and communal life.

It’s beauty came from its purpose.

The tipi could be dismantled, transported and reconstructed as families moved across the land between camps, hunting areas and gathering places. Its architecture was efficient, adaptable and responsive to the nature world.

Today, the A-Frame offers an opportunity to carry forward those principles - not to replicate the tipi, but to learn from the intelligence behind it.

A simple structural form.
A gathering place.
A connection between earth and sky.
A building shaped by its surroundings.

The A-Frame reimagines these ideas through contemporary architecture - creating spaces where people can gather, work, create, stay and reconnect with the land.

For communities returning home to their traditional lands, architecture can become part of that journey.

Coming back home is more than building structures.

It is rebuilding connection.
Creating opportunity.
Sharing knowledge.
Strengthening community.
And designing places that belong to the land again.

This is where the vision comes to life.
